Gut Feelings: Navigating the IBD & Obesity Challenges

Accredited e-learning

This accredited e-learning was developed to allow physicians who were unable to attend the Gut Feelings: Navigating the IBD & Obesity Challenges live event, to access the full scientific content in an e-learning format, while still benefiting from 2 SGGSSG credits (Swiss Society of Gastroenterology).

This 2-hour accredited e-learning provides a concise, clinically relevant overview of the interplay between inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and obesity, based on expert presentations from the original event.

The program starts by addressing the inflammatory and metabolic crosstalk between IBD and obesity, reviewing key clinical evidence on this bidirectional relationship, and setting the scientific foundation for subsequent discussions on multidisciplinary patient care and management strategies.

Then it leads us into new frontiers in IBD care, presenting a holistic view of disease management focused on comprehensive disease control with a specific focus on p19 inhibitors as a key emerging therapeutic class. The program subsequently transitions the incretin era, led by a Swiss Endocrinology expert, addressing chronic weight management (CWM) as a chronic disease and its treatment through incretin-based therapies. It concludes by the impact of obesity on IBD outcomes and a review of evidence-based strategies to bridge IBD and obesity.

Through expert contributions from four speakers, this accredited e-learning offers physicians the opportunity to engage with the content anytime, anywhere, and at their own pace while gaining deeper insights into this important and evolving topic at the intersection of IBD and obesity.
